Peace Oration

Rotary Club of West Wollongong
Annual Peace Oration

The promotion of peace and conflict prevention is an important goal for the Rotary Foundation and for Rotary members the world over. To enable an ongoing conversation on what we need to do, and what we need to know, to promote and maintain peace, the Rotary Club of West Wollongong invites scholars of peace, diplomats and thought leaders to deliver its Annual Peace Oration.

The 2015 Peace Oration will be delivered by Ambassador John McCarthy, National President of the Australian Institute of Foreign Affairs. John McCarthy’s insights into foreign relations stem from his service as Australia’s Ambassador to the United States, India, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.

Ambassador McCarthy will address the imperatives for peace in Australia’s neighbourhood in his talk entitled “Australia and Asia: Dealing with change”.
